“Bokken” by Antoni Aparicio, winnwe of Verallia's Glass and Creation Contest
This year, Verallia's Glass and Creation Contest looked to “Spirits” as its theme. Of the 45 works submitted to the competition, “Bokken” by Antoni Aparicio, a student at ESADA (Andalusian School of Art and Design) in Granada, took the winning spot and a prize of EUR 2,300.
“Bokken” is a bottle of Japanese whisky inspired by Mount Fuji and Japanese culture. It departs from the traditional square bottle, possessing a number of dynamic contours to enhance the product origin. A multi-disciplinary panel of judges headed by Xavier Cuxart, creative director at Morillas, selected the finalists at a meeting in Madrid. The panel included representatives from industry companies such as Maxxium, Destilerías MG, Disaronno and Williams & Humbert, as well as executives from Verallia Spain.
